Trash Blasting Tourism - Expeditions and Field Trips

Volun-tourism is the conscious, seamlessly integrated combination of voluntary service to a destination and the best, traditional elements of travel — arts, culture, geography, history and recreation — in that destination. (VolunToursim.org)
It's volunteer work. It's training. Is it tax-deductible? Your accountant is the best source for this answer as there are many conditions, but here is an IRS form that may help out.

Trash Blasting Tourism is educational, volunteer based, and ecological. Initial Trash Blasting  7-10 day guided tours build on the WATER module. The course begins with 2 online classes to get the group of 25-30 students oriented to the coursework, each other and the destination. Then we take a guided field trip/excursion in order to work together investigating the far off watershed and collecting real data with a real community for a Trash Blasting Master Cleanup Plan. On returning, we have two more online sessions to compete the plan with the local community and with other students who went to other destinations.

This creates an exhilarating learning environment with lots and lots of sharing and bonding within the marine debris community.
